The Senstar Symphony Client includes functionality to monitor cameras, manage video, generate reports, and configure alarms.

You can use the settings in the Senstar Symphony Client to customize the Senstar Symphony Client interface.

The update settings determine how the Senstar Symphony Client checks for and applies updates.

Senstar Symphony Server
The Senstar Symphony Server includes functionality to manage devices, security, rules, sites, and settings.
Senstar Symphony Client
The Senstar Symphony Client includes functionality to monitor cameras, manage video, generate reports, and configure alarms.
- Open command
  You can open the Senstar Symphony Client using a command in the command line. In addition, you can add arguments to the command that open specific cameras and, in the case of PTZ cameras, specific camera presets.
- Change your password
  You can change the password for your user account in the Senstar Symphony Client interface.
- View log files
  You can view, search, and download log files for the Senstar Symphony Client and any Senstar Symphony Server to which the Senstar Symphony Client connects.
- View events
  You can view and export events for the Senstar Symphony Client and any Senstar Symphony Server to which the Senstar Symphony Client connects.
- Lock times
  You can lock times on navigation in the Senstar Symphony Client interface to make all camera view panels display video from the same time.
- Customize the toolbar
  You can change the icons that appear on the toolbar in the Senstar Symphony Client interface.
- Disable single sign-on
  You can disable the single sign-on option when changing users and registering new farms in the Senstar Symphony Client.
- Configure the SSL certificate timeout
  You can set how long the Senstar Symphony Client waits for a valid certificate before it falls back to a non-SSL connection.
- Device tree
  The device tree in the Senstar Symphony Client interface lists the cameras, devices, and carousels available on the Senstar Symphony Server.
- Server list
  The Senstar Symphony Client interface lists the Senstar Symphony Server instances to which the Senstar Symphony Client is connected and the state of those instances. You can select a Senstar Symphony Server to access the cameras and devices that are connected to that instance.
- View panels
  View panels can display live video, recorded video, decorations from cameras, browser pages, and maps in the Senstar Symphony Client interface.
- Timeline
  A timeline displays activities and alarms for cameras in the Senstar Symphony Client interface. The Senstar Symphony Client includes a consolidated timeline that displays information from numerous cameras a camera timeline that displays information from an individual camera.
- Maps
  Maps can display the location of cameras, camera views, digital inputs and output devices, links, and labels in the Senstar Symphony Client interface.
- Senstar Symphony Messenger
  The Senstar Symphony Messenger allows you to send messages to any user who is logged in to the Senstar Symphony Client or Senstar Symphony Web Client.
- Carousels
  Carousels can loop through multiple cameras across multiple servers in the same server farm, pausing on each camera for a defined time.
- Settings
  You can use the settings in the Senstar Symphony Client to customize the Senstar Symphony Client interface.
  - View camera activity
    You can view the activity for multiple cameras and open camera view panels for specific times from each camera's timeline.
  - Customize the toolbar
    You can add or remove icons from the toolbar in the Senstar Symphony Client interface.
  - Change timeline colors
    You can change the colors that the Senstar Symphony Client uses in the timeline.
  - Startup settings
    The startup settings determine how the Senstar Symphony Client behaves when it starts.
  - Display settings
    The display settings determine what information the Senstar Symphony Client displays and what is included in log files.
  - Alarms settings
    The alarm settings determine how alarms appear in the Senstar Symphony Client.
  - Video settings
    The video settings determine the behavior of PTZ cameras, the appearance of video decorations, instant replay, and the characteristics of video in the Senstar Symphony Client.
  - Customize settings
    The customize settings determines the appearance and behavior of maps and the device tree in the Senstar Symphony Client.
  - Sound settings
    The sound settings detemine the noises that the Senstar Symphony Client generates from cameras and events.
  - Regional settings
    The regional settings determine the language and the date/time format for the Senstar Symphony Client.
  - Global settings
    The global settings determine the location of configuration files and which version of the Senstar Symphony help the Senstar Symphony Client uses (either the help included with the installation of the Senstar Symphony Server or the online help).
  - Lock settings
    The lock settings determine the functionality that is available to users when you lock the Senstar Symphony Client and allows you to set the pass phrase for unlocking the Senstar Symphony Client.
  - Update settings
    The update settings determine how the Senstar Symphony Client checks for and applies updates.
  - Advanced settings
    The advanced settings determines how and when the Senstar Symphony Client restarts and how much information it includes in log files.
- Bookmarks
  A bookmark identifies specific footage that you can return to later. Bookmarks can refer to live videos, recorded videos, or still images.
- Video wall
  The video wall feature in Senstar Symphony can display footage from multiple cameras in the server farm on multiple monitors.
- Server configuration
  Although you perform most configuration for the Senstar Symphony Server in the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface, the Senstar Symphony Client interface includes functionality to configure some settings on the Senstar Symphony Server.
- Reports
  You can generate reports on the data from the Senstar Symphony Server.
- Alarms
  Alarms occur when a video analytic running on a device detects the conditions of a rule.
- Visual tracking
  The visual tracking feature allows you to add links to cameras that will automatically switch the camera view panel to an adjacent camera. You can use this feature to track a moving subject across multiple cameras.
- Video export
  The Senstar Symphony Client includes functionality to export video. The Senstar Symphony Player can play the exported video.
Senstar Symphony Web Client
The Senstar Symphony Web Client includes functionality to monitor cameras, manage video, generate reports, and configure alarms.
Senstar Symphony Player
The Senstar Symphony Player is an application that can view video files created in the Senstar Symphony Client.

Update settings

The update settings determine how the Senstar Symphony Client checks for and applies updates.


Setting	Description
Enable automatic updates	Select to turn on automatic updates for the Senstar Symphony Client.
Updates are managed by	Select whether the Senstar Symphony Server or the Senstar Symphony Client manages the updates.

Server settings


Setting	Description
Server farm	If you manage updates with the Senstar Symphony Server, select the Senstar Symphony Server farm that manages the updates.

Client settings


Setting	Description
Automatically download and install updates	If you manage updates with the Senstar Symphony Client, select this to download and install updates as soon as they become available.
Automatically download updates and install them at	If you manage updates with the Senstar Symphony Client, select this to download and install updates at a specific time.
Download updates but let me choose when to install them	If you manage updates with the Senstar Symphony Client, select this to download updates only. If you select this option, you must install the updates manually.
