Active Directory integration

The Active Directory authentication security mode uses Active Directory to authenticate users.

For this authentication method, the Senstar Symphony Database stores user names and security identifiers for user accounts, but not the passwords. When a user attempts to log in, the Senstar Symphony Server checks the credentials against Active Directory. When you add a user account to the Senstar Symphony Server, you must associate the user account with a user account in Active Directory.

If you subsequently remove the user from Active Directory, the Senstar Symphony Server deletes the user.

The Senstar Symphony Server automatically synchronizes with Active Directory once a day at 12:00 AM server time. Additionally, you can synchronize the Senstar Symphony Server manually.
