Add hardware
You can add DIO, access control, and Senstar Thin Client devices to the Senstar Symphony Server from the Hardware tab in the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface.

The Senstar Symphony Server includes functionality to manage devices, security, rules, sites, and settings.
- Log in to the Senstar Symphony Server
  You can open the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface in a browser.
- Senstar Symphony Server services
  The Senstar Symphony Server runs the following services.
- Devices
  The Senstar Symphony Server supports cameras, digital input/output devices, and access control devices.
  - Cameras
    The Senstar Symphony Server is compatible with analog and IP cameras from a wide variety of manufacturers.
  - Browsers
    The Senstar Symphony Client can display a Web page in a camera view panel.
  - Templates
    A template is a collection of configuration settings that you can apply to cameras.
  - Hardware
    Hardware can provide data that the Senstar Symphony Server can use to trigger events.
    - Search for a hardware device
      You can use filters in the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface to search for a specific hardware device.
    - Add hardware
      You can add DIO, access control, and Senstar Thin Client devices to the Senstar Symphony Server from the Hardware tab in the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface.
  - Integrations
    The Integrations tab in the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface is where you add security solutions to the Senstar Symphony Server.
  - Access control devices
    The Senstar Symphony Server can use data from access control devices to trigger events.
  - Device tree
    The device tree organizes and displays devices in the Senstar Symphony Client interface.
  - Carousels
    Carousels are configurations for video panels in the Senstar Symphony Client interface that can loop through multiple cameras and display video for a set time.
- Security
  Security settings on the Senstar Symphony Server allow you to configure authentication for users, set and change permissions for users and groups quickly, and add watermarks to video.
- Rules
  The Senstar Symphony Server can generate alarms from rules. Rules include events, action sets, and schedules.
- Licenses
  License settings for the Senstar Symphony Server allow you to view and refresh licenses.
- Settings
  The settings for the Senstar Symphony Server allow you to configure servers, general settings, email notifications, health monitoring, Senstar Enterprise Manager integration, updates, and backup and restore.
- Analytics
  Senstar Symphony video analytics provide real-time alerts, smart video search, and reporting.
Senstar Symphony Client
The Senstar Symphony Client includes functionality to monitor cameras, manage video, generate reports, and configure alarms.
Senstar Symphony Web Client
The Senstar Symphony Web Client includes functionality to monitor cameras, manage video, generate reports, and configure alarms.
Senstar Symphony Player
The Senstar Symphony Player is an application that can view video files created in the Senstar Symphony Client.

Add hardware

You can add DIO, access control, and Senstar Thin Client devices to the Senstar Symphony Server from the Hardware tab in the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface.

In the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface, click Devices > Hardware.
Click Add Hardware.
In the Manufacturer list, select the manufacturer of the hardware device.
If the manufacturer is not in the list, try adding the hardware device as an integration (Add an intergration) or as an access control device (Add an access control device).
In the General section, specify the settings for the hardware device.
The settings are specific to both the manufacturer and the type of device.
Click Connect to Device to test the connection.
Click Save.
