Active Directory authentication

The Active Directory Integration security mode uses Active Directory to authenticate users.

For this authentication method, the Symphony database stores user names and security identifiers for user accounts, but not the passwords. When a user attempts to log in, Symphony checks the credentials against Active Directory. When you add a user account to Symphony, you must associate the user account with a user account in Active Directory.

If you subsequently remove the user from Active Directory, Symphony deletes the user.
