Master Access Control Reader Groups
A Master ACR Group is a Group of ACR Group(s) that can be assigned to a Access Level(s). This allows for a heirarchical grouping of reader groups.
Creating a Master Access Control Reader (MACR) Group
- Click on the Access menu and select Access Levels.
- Unlock the pad lock to allow editing of the Access Levels module.
- If Controller Groups are being utilized, select the appropriate Controller Group from the drop down pick list.
- Click on the Access Control Readers tab, this option is used when selecting readers not Elevator Floors.
- Right click in the Access Control Reader Groups Box, and click on the Edit Master ACR Group to bring up the Master ACR Group window.
- Click the Add button in the top left of the window to add a new Master ACR Group.
- To modify the name of the Master ACR Group, highlight the New ACR Group and click the Edit button. This will allow the operator to assign a logical name to the Master Access Control Reader group such as Interior Doors.
- Add reader(s) to the group by selecting the checkbox of the readers from the list of readers to the right and using the left arrow button.
- Remove reader(s) from the group by selecting the checkbox of the readers from the list of readers in the selected Master ACR Group from the left and click on the right arrow button.
Adding Master ACR Groups to Access Levels
- Click on the Access menu and select Access Levels.
- Unlock the pad lock to allow editing of the Access Levels module.
- If Controller Groups are being utilized, select the appropriate Controller Group from the drop down pick list next to Controller Groups.
- Click on the Access Control Readers tab, this option is used when selecting readers as opposed to Elevator Floors.
- Highlight the next available Access Level from the tree located in the column on the left.
- Perform a right mouse click on the Access Level and select Edit Description to modify the description of the Access Level.
- From the Access Control Reader box, highlight the Master Access Control Reader group from the tree, when selected the MACR (Master Access Control Reader Group) will be highlighted.
- Select the appropriate Time Schedule. This can be accomplished by clicking on the drop down arrow to the right of Time Schedule and selecting the desired schedule. The schedules selected will be the define periods access will be allowed at the readers assigned to the Access Level. For example, if a schedule of 8-5 Monday – Friday is assigned, any personnel record containing an Access level with this particular Access Control Reader Group will only be allowed access Monday – Friday 8 am to 5 pm. If a card is present at 7:59 am the card will be denied access due to time because it is prior to the 8 am schedule.
- Highlight the Access Level from the tree on the left and perform a right mouse click. Select Add Selected ACR Group to Access Level. Once this step has completed the Master ACR Group will appear below the Access Level with the associated time schedule.
- Another option to add the Master ACR Group to the Access Level is to drag and drop the selected Master ACR Group. To add the Master ACR Group to an Access Level using drag and drop functionality left mouse click on one of the Master ACR Group. A folder icon will display indicating the group is ready to be dropped onto the appropriate Access Level. With the left mouse button still selected, drag the mouse on top of the desired Access Level and release the mouse. The Master ACR Group will be displayed below the Access Level indicating they have successfully been added. Master ACR Groups added to an Access Level will be shown with a folder icon to the left of the Master ACR id number, name and associated time schedule.
- Click on the download icon to download the changes to the appropriate controllers. If a manual download is not performed, upon leaving the screen the operator will be prompted to perform a download of both Access Levels and Personnel records.
Note: Up to 255 access levels can be added per controller group.
