Calibrating Many Cameras of the Same Make and Model

Ensure that you have calibrated the camera first.

Task 1:  Obtain the Camera Model String

  

 

1.      From the Server menu, select Manual Configuration Editor.

2.      Expand Type: Camera

3.      Find the ID of your camera and expand it.

4.      Find the row where Section= Client and Key= DetectionXML.

5.      In the Value column, click the + sign to expand the field. Copy the manufacturer and model name. For example:

Task 2:  Copy calibrations settings from camera

1.      Using the same camera ID from Obtain the Camera Model String, find the row where Section=PTZ Calibration and Key= PTZ Calibration

2.      In the Value column, click the + sign to expand the field. Copy the contents of the Value field.

  

 

Task 3:  Apply calibration settings copied from one camera to cameras of the same model

1.      Expand Type: Global.

2.      Click Add a new setting... in the first row to activate the cells.
Enter the following settings (indicated in bold font) in the first row under the specific column headings:
Type = Global
ID
Section = PTZCalibrationOverride
Key = <Camera Model String>
Value = <XML Calibration String>

Where Key must be entered as <Manufacturer name><Space><Model Name>. This information is from the Value field for Key=DetectionXML that you found in Obtain the Camera Model String. Using the example from Task 1, <Manufacturer name><Space><Model Name> would be Axis AXIS Q6305-E.

3.      Paste contents you copied in Copy calibrations settings from camera (PTZ Calibration) into the Value field.

4.      To confirm your entry, click the Action cell and click OK
