Integrate a Salto access control device

You can integrate a Salto access control device with the Senstar Symphony Server to use events from the access control device to trigger alarms.

Required licenses:

  • Symphony V8 Salto Integration (S8SW3023-XXY)

To integrate the Salto access control device, complete the following workflow:

  1. Install and configure the Salto software and hardware. The Salto software should not be on the same computer as the Senstar Symphony Server.
  2. Add the Salto access control device to the Senstar Symphony Server as an integration.
    The following table describes the settings for the Salto access control device in the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface. In most cases, you configure the settings in the Salto access control software first and then add the settings to the Senstar Symphony Server.
    SettingDescription 
    NameType the name of the Salto access control device. The name appears in the device tree in the Senstar Symphony Client.
    TypeThe type is Salto Access Control. 
    Managed BySelect the Senstar Symphony Server that manages this access control device.
    Failover EnabledSelect to allow the access control device to move to another Senstar Symphony Server if a failover occurs. 
    IP AddressType the IP address of the access control device. 
    PortSelect the port that the Senstar Symphony Server uses to communicate with the access control device. 
    Event polling intervalSelect how often the Senstar Symphony Server checks the access control device for new events.  
    User sync intervalSelect how often the Senstar Symphony Server checks the access control device for changes to the user database.   
    Communication protocolSelect whether to use HTTP or HTTPS as the protocol for communication between the Senstar Symphony Server and the access control device.  
    Authorization typeSelect how the access control device authorizes the Senstar Symphony Server.
    If you select None, you do not need to provide credentials.
    If you select Basic, you need to provide a username and password.
    If you select Custom, you need to provide an API key.   
    UsernameType the username that the Senstar Symphony Server uses for basic authorization with the access control device.
    You set the user name in the Salto software first and then add it to the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface. 
    PasswordType the password that the Senstar Symphony Server uses for basic authorization with the access control device.
    You set the password in the Salto software first and then add it to the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface. 
    API keyAdd the API key that the Senstar Symphony Server uses for custom authorization with the access control device.
    You set the API key in the Salto software first and then add it to the Senstar Symphony Server configuration interface.
