Upgrade from the Axis VMS 7.6 to the Symphony Server 8.x
To upgrade the Axis VMS 7.6 to the Symphony Server 8.x, complete the following tasks:
- Run the Symphony upgrade installer for the version of the Symphony Server that most closely matches the the Axis VMS version (e.g. Axis VMS 7.6.2 to Symphony Server 7.6.6).
While running the upgrade installer, do not install the Microsoft SQL Server. The database is already installed but not recognized. - In the Symphony setup wizard, rename the database instance from Senstar to Axis so that the Symphony Server recognizes the database instance.
- Run the Symphony Server 8.2 installer.
While running the upgrade installer, do not install the Microsoft SQL Server.
