Make ONVIF temperature alarm events appear as digital inputs
The Symphony Server cannot process temperature alarm events from cameras yet. To work around this issue, you can make the temperature events from ONVIF cameras appear as digital inputs to the Symphony Server, as long as the camera is a thermal imaging device that supports the ONVIF standard tns1:RuleEngine/Radiometry/TemperatureAlarm event as defined by ONVIF-Analytics-Service Annex D. - Add a server option for RedirectONVIFTemperatureEvent:
Type = Server Section = Main ID = [server_id] Key = RedirectONVIFTemperatureEvent Value = 1 - Add a new camera to the Symphony Server or reconnect to a camera in the Symphony Server configuration interface. To reconnect to a camera, perform the following tasks in the Symphony Server configuration interface:
- In the device list, select the camera and click Edit.
- In the General section, click Edit and click Reconnect.
- Click Save.
- To configure the temperature event for the camera, perform the following tasks in the Symphony Server configuration interface:
- Verify that an additional input appears in the Digital I/O section of the camera configuration page and in the Symphony Client device list.
The temperature alarm will be the last item in the list of camera inputs. - Verify that the In Use checkbox for the addition input is selected in the Digital I/O section of the camera configuration page.
- Consider changing the name of the input to something meaningful (for example, "Temperature").
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each camera that requires the temperature alarm event.
- In the manual configuration editor, remove the RedirectONVIFTemperatureEvent option.
You can now observe the inputs changing and you can create rules to respond to the changing inputs. Note: If your camera uses a different ONVIF event to signal temperature alarms, the Symphony configuration can be changed. Contact Senstar Support.
