Symphony Player Readme

This folder contains the player for the exported video.

The player requires the following Windows components:

  • Visual C runtime version 8.0.50727.6195
  • Visual C runtime for Visual Studio 2012
  • Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0

When running the player, if you receive an error stating the application was unable to start correctly, run vcredist_x86.exe, vcredist_x86_V110.exe to install the Visual C runtime.

If you receive an error about the .NET framework, download it from Microsoft's website and install it.

If you are trying to play a video from certain MPG4 cameras, you will need to register some DLLs using regsvr32.exe:

  • Axis: regsvr32 AxMP4Dec.dll
  • Bosch: regsvr32 InterlaceFilter.ax VideoDecoder.ax
  • Sony: regsvr32 SNCVideo.dll
  • Vivotek: regsvr32 MP4Parser.ax VideoTransFilter.ax

If you exported audio, you will need to register the following DLLs using regsvr32.exe:

  • Axis: regsvr32 Audio.dll
  • Sony: regsvr32 SNCAudioDMO.dll
  • Vivotek: regsvr32 AudioTransFilter.ax

There is no harm in registering all of these files once even if you are not playing exports from the specified manufacturers:

  • regsvr32 Audio.dll AudioTransFilter.ax AxMP4Dec.dll InterlaceFilter.ax
  • MP4Parser.ax SNCAudioDMO.dll SNCVideo.dll VideoDecoder.ax VideoTransFilter.ax

The player will automatically associate itself with video files the first time it is run.  If this association fails, it is recommended that you create the association yourself.  Simply right-click on a video file and select 'Open With' and complete the wizard.
