Installing or Upgrading Symphony on a FIPS-enabled server
Scenario During the installation or upgrade of Symphony Server on a server that has FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) enabled, the connection to the database fails and the installation or upgrade does not complete successfully. For more information on FIPS, see Microsoft® Support KB Article ID 811833 for details. Solution To install Symphony on a server that has FIPS enabled, you must do the following: 1) Disable the following Microsoft® Windows® registry key:
The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\fipsalgorithmpolicy
2) Install Symphony Server and Client executables.
