How to add View Areas to Symphony

Solution

To add View Areas to Symphony:

1. Enable View Area feature on Axis camera:
   1. Select Setup > Video & Audio > Camera Settings > Enable View Areas.
   2. Configure View Area: Select Setup > Video & Audio > View Areas.
2. Add View Area to Symphony:
   1. From the Server menu, select Configuration. The Server Configuration dialog opens with the Devices Summary screen open.
   2. Click Add (to add a new camera).
   3. In the URL field, enter the the IP address rtsp://<ip>/axis-media/media.amp?camera=<view_area_number_here>
      where RTSP is the URL from the manufacturer. Do NOT click Connect To Camera button.
   4. Match Video Format, Resolution and FPS settings to the view on the camera
   5. Click OK.

Important:

For Axis, the better way to enable View Areas is to configure the video profile to show a view area.
