How to configure Symphony to use other IP address when sending notifications

Scenario

Symphony has a local IP address and you want Symphony accessible from outside the LAN.

Solution

1. In Symphony client, from the Server menu, select Manual Configuration Editor. The Server Configuration dialog box appears.
2. At the top, click the Add a new setting... area. The Type, ID, Section, Key, and Value fields appear.
3. Enter the following:

Type=Global
Section=Main
Key= ExternalIP
Value=<external IP address>

4. Click Apply.
5. Click Close.

To have different external IPs for different servers in the farm:

1. In Symphony client, from the Server menu, select Manual Configuration Editor. The Server Configuration dialog box appears.
2. At the top, click the Add a new setting... area. The Type, ID, Section, Key, and Value fields appear.
3. Enter the following:

Type=Server
Section=Main
ID= <server id>
Key= ExternalIP
Value=<external IP address>

4. Click Apply.
5. Click Close.
