How to add an alternative codec

Important: Third party codecs are not supported and installing them could have adverse effects on your Symphony installation.

Solution

Symphony has built-in support for many codecs.

To add an alternative codec, add the name of the codec to the manual global configuration:

1. Edit %appdata%\Aimetis\acc.ini and add codec parameters, for example:

   [Codecs]
   
   MJPG=Morgan MJPEG Decompressor
   
   H264=CoreAVC Video Decoder
   

   where codec=<codec name>
   
2. Save the acc.ini and then restart Symphony Client for the changes to take effect.
