   Off The Desk

Theft, violence, and vandalism are on the rise. While security and asset protection are always important, they are increasingly critical when an economy is in a downturn.

According to a recent study by the Institute for Corporate Productivity, nearly a quarter of all responding companies are reporting an increase in internal theft, while 28% noted an increase in physical criminal activity. Retail is being hit particularly hard with 74% of retailers surveyed by the National Retail Federation reporting an increase in shoplifting and 79% reporting an increase in employee theft. This – coupled with personnel cutbacks which, in some cases, include the security personnel responsible for preventing theft – is fueling a market demand to find more efficient ways to fight back.

Aimetis can help.

Intelligent IP surveillance solutions from Aimetis are positively impacting the bottom line for organizations around the world (see ICA case study in Project News section below). Leveraging existing IT infrastructure such as servers, storage and industry-leading cameras, Aimetis software can help deter employee theft, enhance recovery of stolen items, preempt physical threats, and maximize the productivity of an understaffed security department.

Please contact Aimetis or one of our certified partners to learn more about how our solutions can combat crime.

New! Aimetis Authorized Partner Program

Aimetis will be introducing a new partner category in Q2 2009 – Authorized Partner.

The new Authorized Partner program is designed to meet the basic needs of small system integrators/resellers focused on standalone, basic IP surveillance implementations while the Certified Partner category is designed for medium to large-size system integrators/resellers focused on projects, using analytics and system integration

The Authorized Partner program offers a more convenient platform for system integrators to quickly get up to speed with the Aimetis software through a two-and a half hour online training curriculum. More in-depth knowledge and hands-on training will continue to be offered as a two-day, live on-site seminar for Certified Partners.

Partners will be required to be an Authorized or a Certified partner to sell the Aimetis Symphony™ software. For 2009, Aimetis is not charging for partners to be authorized and in response to the global economic slowdown, has lowered its certification fee by 40%.
